Thank you to the many parents and children who worked Saturday morning on the courtyard. Together we filled barrels of brush and branches, raised the soil and weeded for the new butterfly garden and placed barrels of pea stone as a weed barrier in the raised bed area. We even had a very timid woodcock visit us as we worked. The courtyard looks amazing, thank you to everyone!

Thank you to the many parent volunteers who planned and organized this great event, together we raised $558.00 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation! It was a fun night, full of dancing, running and playing and lots of laughter. A very special thank you to our Stony Brook friends who showed our young friends the Hokey Poky, Macarena, the Limbo, Chicken Dance and more. They were amazing! Check out the photos below.
Today during our Miller Town Meeting students and teachers strutted their stuff wearing our new Miller apparel. Children in the audience were so excited, clapping and cheering our models on. Check out the pictures below.

Today Mr. Sardella and I harvested kale and herbs from the courtyard vegetable garden with the help of four students from Mrs. Newman's first grade class. Tomorrow the kale will be served in the cafeteria as crispy kale chips and last week basil was used in the pasta sauce the children had for lunch today. Check out the pictures below!
We are so pleased to have the children back! The school is filled with smiles and lots of positive energy. We know that for many children transitioning to a new school, and even a new grade and teacher can be stressful. To help your child through this transition check out this helpful link from Parenting Today.
Since Miller School opened in 2002 each year second graders create a new mural as a parting gift to the school. Next time you are at Miller stop and take a look at them; they are beautiful! When older students return to Miller, they most always stop by their mural to find their tile!
This year, the mural theme was initials and the finished mural is beautiful and bright. You can find it hanging near the school library.
A very special thank you to Donna Burkett, she has designed and hung every mural since 2002. What a wonderful gift to the school!
On Friday morning Karen Berrigan, Karen Burke, Jayna Arevalo, Traci Post and Janice Diamond received a Westford Education Foundation Grant. The grant money will be used to purchase Osmo's, an interactive device that allows children to explore concepts in math, language and the arts. Thank you WEF for supporting innovation in teaching!
Congratulations to Ms. Frost and Mrs. Garvey over the years they have brought smiles to many children. On Thursday afternoon the staff held our annual end of year ice cream social and honored our two retirees, we wish them all the best!
Our new upright sand box was installed this week and children got to play in it today for the first time! Thank you to the WPS Maintenance staff.
