Below is an overview of the drill should you would want to continue this safety conversation at home. A.L.I.C.E. stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate. The three drills practiced on Friday were Evacuation, Counter and Barricade. After each drill a member of the safety team entered each classroom to answer any questions, comment on how the class performed the drill and offer feedback as needed. If you would like more information on the A.L.I.C.E. philosophy and drill please visit this website, www.alicetraining.com.
I'm Not Scared, I'm Prepared by Julia Cook was read in each class prior to the drill. Copies of this book can be found in the main office and the Miller School library. Below are a few photographs taken during the presentation.
I am so proud of our students and staff. They rose to the occasion and embraced this challenge with such a positive attitude.
