Mr. Hardy, WA Art Teacher and several students from the WA Community Art Club have been volunteering their time to paint games on the first and second grade playground. Already there are new hopscotch games, a "human sized" chutes and ladders game, and very soon there will be a giant dart board for bean bag toss. The children are really enjoying these new additions. Thank you Mr. Hardy and members of the club!
This morning I had the pleasure of working with three amazing principals - Ben, Bella and Declan! They did an excellent job with morning announcements, announced indoor recess as a result of rainy weather and together we visited many classrooms. It was so much fun!
After we had our snack they drew the next students to be principals of the morning, I am looking forward to spending time with Tej, Sebastian and Henry.
Westford Conservation Trust Members Diane Duane, Emily Edwards and her daughter Jane came to the Miller School Library to present the bird program to 2nd grade students on Wednesday, October 18. Students learned how to use binoculars, how to identify birds and gather data for the town-wide bird identification program. Second graders will participate in the bird program during their library classes this year.
It was so much fun seeing parents and children explore math and science activities this past Monday- the cafeteria was full of smiles and energy! Thank you to Mrs. Burke for all her hard work in organizing this event - what a great way to celebrate learning!

Did you know that this is National Bus Safety Week? It is, and Miller children have been hard at work thinking of ways to recognize our hard working drivers and to keep safe on the bus.
This afternoon children gave each driver a tumbler inscribed with this poem:
Your safe, skillful driving makes us glad to count on you.
You're a super driver.
Thanks for all you do!
They also gave the drivers thank you notes and pledges to be safe on the bus.
What a great night we had last Friday evening. Thank you to the many parent volunteers, PTO members and our two fabulous Blanchard Middle School volunteers Lauren and Emily. Everyone had a great time and danced the night away for a great cause - we raised over $1300.00 for the new playground at Day School.
Fuzzy Bear even made an appearance to dance with Miller friends! Check out the slide show below.
