January 25 – February 5
Day School Lobby
Sponsored by Day School 3rd Grade Student
My birthday is on February 5th, and I asked my parents if I could donate my birthday gifts this year. My mom found out about an organization called The Pajama Program, and I wanted to help them as soon as I learned about it!
“Pajama Program provides new pajamas and new books to children in need nationwide, many of whom are waiting to be adopted. These children live in group homes, shelters and temporary housing facilities and are often shuffled from one place to another. Most of these children have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a parent tuck them in at bedtime with warm, clean pajamas and a bedtime story. The founder has shared her story of distributing her first pairs of pajamas and being asked, “What are these?” by a child who had never owned a pair before. These two simple gifts of pajamas and books let the children know that someone cares - sometimes these are the only new things they have ever received.”
If you want to help, please bring new PJs or new books to the donation box in the Day School lobby. Pajamas and books are needed for tiny babies all the way through big teenagers (size newborn-adult XL). I am collecting what I can, and will bring the donations to the local Pajama Program organizer once I am finished so that they can give them to kids in our area who need them!

If you have questions, please contact my mom, Abby Rendish, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for making my birthday wish come true!!
